I started out as a photojournalist, and weddings are a great avenue for me to use photography to tell the story of people in love. I’ve photographed over 400 wine country weddings: they’re all unique, and they all have their own story. To witness and record the range of emotions not just in the faces of the bride and groom, but in their families’ and friends’ faces as well, is a privilege.
My father was a photographer in England, where I was born and raised. I graduated from U.C. Berkeley, and studied the Fine Arts while attending the university.
My photography work has brought me many rewards, but nothing compares to the connections I’ve made with brides and grooms as they start their journey together. I’m grateful to be able to give them the gift of their photographs: a constant reminder to them of the joy they shared on that special day.
My photographs have been widely published, including the L.A. Times, Press Democrat, Sonoma Magazine, Brides magazine, and numerous wedding-related blogs and online articles. I am a two-time winner of Wedding Wire's Couples' Choice Award and have also been awarded Two Bright Lights Publishers' Award. In 2014, I was voted best Napa/Sonoma Wedding Photographer by Borrowed and Blue's readers.
I taught photography courses at Sonoma Valley High School and have led photography workshops throughout Sonoma County.
When I am not taking pictures, I love to spend time with my family, run with my two rescued dogs, hike, and tend to my organic vegetable garden.
